Kevin, Thanks for this video. Just bought a 2009 CLK 350 Cabriolet for my daughter with exact same setup (cd changer/ipod connector) and was looking for a way to just do a aux hookup to her iPhone for music. I'm going to have to check under that trim piece for the aux cable. You may have just saved me installing a carplay compatible radio.

Hey Kevin mine is 2007 CLK350 as I opened it there was nothing other than the old iPhone cable!

I took the side off and there was a female end aux input. I hooked up my phone and also used an iphone dongle, but there was no luck. No sound coming through :/
