John Malkovich is easily one of the most iconic character actor of all time. His ability to totally immerse himself in his characters is uncanny and an utterly beautiful thing.

If you want to see a young Clint Eastwood, I recommend his spaghetti westerns (Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good the Bad and the Ugly). If you want to see a REALLY young Clint Eastwood, watch a few episodes of the television series Rawhide.

"In the line of fire" was the first movie where Eastwood turned his tough guy image completely on its head. He showed more depth, was vulnerable, even cried. It was the prelude to his most emotional part, the love story "Bridges of Madison County". He directed and played the lead opposite a radiant Meryl Streep. Together they pulled off one of the most unexpected, romantic and touching movies of the 90ies. It was then advertised as "Clint Eastwood's gift to women". That may sound cheesy, but it's true. Bring your sister and two boxes of tissues. You two will love it.

"Mystic River" is a must watch. Directed by Clint Eastwood with a great cast.

The Outlaw Josie Wales is one of my favorite Clint Eastwood westerns. Great character development, and a lot of great characters throughout the movie.

I definitely recommend Heartbreak Ridge, The Dirty Harry series, and the spaghetti western films for more Clint Eastwood movies.

is 1979's "Escape From Alcatraz"
(based on a real 1962 escape
from the notorious prison). This is
where "The Shawshank Redemption"
got a lot of its ideas.

“That guy”, John Malkovich, hasn’t played that many villains although he does a great job in this one. ConAir is the first one that comes to mind. He’s a villain in Jenifer 8, but it’s an inferior movie I felt was elevated by him.

Empire of the Sun is a Spielberg movie with him in it that I think you’d love. And since you’ve seen Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, you might like Being John Malkovich which has an even crazier plot.

"The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" would be my top choice to watch cowboy Eastwood in his prime, and "Dirty Harry" for an equally-entertaining non-Western. Thanks for another great video!

Great reaction! Okay...you need to trust me here. A great movie similar to this one in the suspense features a young Kevin Costner: No Way Out. I think you will love this movie!
