How to spot damage on a C5 & C6 Corvette Skid Bar

I have a 2005 Corvette and the previous owner totally broke the skid bar and my Corvette was so low in the front. I didn't know about the problem in the beginning. (I just thought it was just low and came that way) When I had my radiator replaced my mechanic told me it was broke in 3 places! My frame was good - had it replaced but it still was a expensive part and yes around $300....You really have to be careful on speed bumps and as you approach the curbs...love the content and love the channel!

Get yourself some FANGS and you'll never have this problem... I've had my FANGS on my C5 for over 12 years and all is good. They took me about 20 minutes to install and have given me total peace of mind knowing that my front end is protected... Go research them and you'll be happy you did... Stay safe... Rico

Im glad I found this video because I ran over debris and the center support bar has been bent upward also shifting the radiator.

Easy fix, go with larger Nutsurts and or just patch and Straighten and Fix the bent Frame . All fab work no parts . Save Save !!

Amazon sells em for around $150. They are Aluminium though, not as strong but lightweight

Several hours of No an hour at most and I was going slow. Pretty straight forward and I had to be careful and bend to get some bolts out.

Primary purpose is radiator support, if it gets tweaked a little it isn’t a big deal. Generally they can be fixed with some sheet metal and a few rivers.

It would have been nice to see this on the car so one knew where to look and how to look to spot damage. Can you see damage from under the car on a lift and from on top through the hood opening?

Mine is broken at the front completely Severed from the rest of the body, surprisingly same spot that this is bent
