It’s past March but curious. I have an LPa of 102 Nmole/liter. It makes sense to me to help lower by either donated whole blood every 2 months or donating double platelets/plasma could help. Thoughts and reasons why/why not it would not work. Thank you!

I am trying to understand the genetic variance/inheritance pattern of Lp(a). I have read some articles that suggest having the “small” Isoform of it is what leads to the increased CVD risk (as opposed to the large one). We get 1 of 2 alleles from each parent. In the case where you are left with both a small and large pattern, is this individual just as likely to have an elevated Lp-a? Or are there more factors that come into play that pure “classic” Mendelian inheritance patterns?
