Nightowl wireless camera 2 month update!

Today I’m doing an update video for the Nightowl wireless camera system from Sam’s Club. First off the system is reliable but it has some faults, first it will drive you crazy if you turn on all notifications, second it doesn’t seem to know the difference between a face, human vrs shadow(or what it’s calling human) and just and any bug of any size will cause a motion alert! You have to adjust the alerts to only do human and vehicle(and it will tell you there’s humans when there’s none and it will tell you it seen a vehicle at minimum 10 times that’s your own vehicle) so I have it the rating of “Better Than Nothing “ if you have one let me know about your experience with it and if you like it?

Tip for anyone using multiple power suppliers to cameras like in this video. You can run low voltage through cat cables. You can locate all the power supplies in one area inside. To do this, you cut the power cord near the end where it will plug into the camera and then use a cat-5 cable to splice in on the power cord. This is a great way when going long distance from the camera to the power supply. I have recently purchased a night owl system that has 1 power supply for up to 4 cameras and is built in to each camera cable so this makes it much easier.

I had one issue with my camera. When I first installed the system in Jan 2022 one of the cameras was not receiving an strong WiFi signal. I added an antenna extension and that resolved it. I do have ghost from time to time on one my camera. I think that is a placement issue. All the other cameras work well and I had no other issues. I don’t recommend the WiFi battery camera because the battery life is very short. On a full charge my battery only lasted two weeks. I put a solar panel to keep it charged and it has been great. It not a perfect system but I am pleased overall.

If your gonna get night owl just get the wired and snake the cables thru the attic or something into a room so there is no delay

How do you mess with the DVR.. to fix the face reconstruction and everything else.. I have the 16 hard wire camera and the face is blurry and like you said it says there is people everywhere

Are you able to talk thru your smart phone to your camera? How to activate two way audio from smart phone?

How do you get the feed to show live all the time. Mine will only show when it seems movement.

My new camera system from nightowl is doing well but for almost 300 dollars it sure as heck is grainy. Have you had any picture quality issues with yours...I also downloaded the App. for my PC but it keeps saying offline but it is online because it works on my phone.

How are they live all the time? Mine stay paused unless it sees movement.

Nice it warns then not to do anything that'll put them in jail so they can come back later knowing exactly which areas to avoid. Just keep coming back until they don't hear that they're busted and they won their game right? Can you turn that voice off? I'd much rather stick with a sign so they aren't aware of whether it's just a light in that area or the actual camera.

Mine waits till someone is actually on my cameras to go to black screen and say "nothing recording at this time" it stores some on my events but on the timeline that's what happens. It's very frustrating. If you know how to fix this, it would be very helpful

My dad just got the night owl cameras and he has an Amazon tablet but for some reason when I try to download the app on his tablet it doesn’t give me the option to install any idea how to fix that program?
