A man in the spotlight for so long with so many drug addicts/users is a huge improvement. I worked for 31 years with Drug Enforcement Administration and dealt with so many addicts, professionals who relapsed so many times, it truly is a blessing that Eric is not dead. I also, as a guitar player, love and respect Eric Clapton and admire him. I don’t judge him. Life has much stress not to mention the stress of being a professional musician. I pray for Clapton’s health and hope to see him live one more time before both he and I pass away. I would love to meet him in person one day. May God bless him and help him to exorcise his Demons and live in some semblance of happiness with whoever he remains with. God bless you Eric and thank you for your influence on my music and guitar playing. You’ll always be one of my hero’s and someone I will always admire. Thank you for the beautiful music you created.

I've read extensively about Eric Clapton beyond the fan magazines. He has been a character study for me. His long dark road from his realization of his birth through drugs and alcohol, the loss of his son and the rebirth of his inner life with his second wife Melia and their 3 girls have been a tremendous story of overcoming obstacles in life.

After reading nearly every book on him and sourcing past articles on him from Google, my opinion is that his life today is not sad at all. He lives in the same house he bought in 1968 with his wife and two of his 4 daughters that are still living at home. His oldest is married and raising babies, and his 2nd daughter (first with Melia) is 21 years old- I'm not sure if she is a student or pursuing other interests.

These are notes I took as I listened to the video:

Eric's heroin abuse started in earnest after the Derek and Dominos period leading to the 3 year hiatus. He wasn't using it in the initial period of his infatuation with Patty Boyd.

In her own book, Patty said she stayed with George because she wanted her marriage to work. It was George's infidelity that led her to giving up. Eric didn't "take Patty from George, " Harrison recognized that if they couldn't work out their differences that she wanted to be with Eric. So George let her go. He had ladies outside their marriage.

EC had been in and out of rehab before 1987. Conor fell 53 stories, not 49 according to most reports.

I don't understand the focus on his relationship with Lory. I've never seen or heard this "deep of a dive" into their relationship, which is pretty detailed. I'd like to know the sources that this video used.

I have no other reference of Eric attempting suicide by hanging. He had never discussed being suicidal. He said that in his life he always had music, always had his career, always had that adventure in front of him to keep him going.

I have no other reference of Eric being in the delivery room or his exclamation of being a father.

Eric was in and out of Lory's life but he never committed. He did try to talk Patty into a joint arrangement but she would hear nothing of it. That's when she filed for divorce.

The relationship with Lory didn't define his next 3 decades.

His marriage to Melia and the birth of their 3 daughters is a sign of redemption for Eric and a validation of his sobriety.

Eric continues to perform in concerts around the world since his neurotrophy was diagnosed. Traveling around the world singing and playing guitar are second nature to him. His skills and ability have not "fallen off" as of 2023. He still fills 20, 000 seat arenas with his loyal fans, both long time listeners and newcomers who appreciate the blues. He has cut back his schedule and only does small tours at a time these days.

Note: I have a herniated disk in my lower back that causes neurotrophy, especially in the legs. Eric has said that carrying a 7 pound guitar over his shoulder every night for 3 hours in concert for 50 years and his other times playing did take its toll. He didn't blame the neurotrophy on that alone, but I can understand how it did contribute to his pains.

THE STORY OF ERIC'S PROBLEMS WITH THE "JAB"
Eric received 2 jabs of Moderna poison in Feb 21. Within a week his hands became paralyzed. He couldn't lift a fork, couldn't brush his teeth, couldn't pick up a cup of tea.

Most importantly, he couldn't play the guitar. Imagine if you will, that at age 76, having made your living with the movement of your hands since you were 20 years old, that you hands are useless and paralyzed. Your whole future suddenly looks black. Scary much?

The paralysis faded until roughly 2 weeks later he regained movement in his hands that became more flexible over time. He went to his doctor. After discussing it, the doctor agreed that whatever the risk of catching this mild case of flu called covid might be, it was better for Eric not take anymore jabs.

Eric talked with the media, repeating his story pretty much like I described above. During the interview he said says he carries 3 pieces of paper

that he is allergic to the jab

that he shouldn't receive the jab

in case of emergency, medical people should be alerted of the fact. He said he wouldn't discriminate among the decisions people made.

That's all he said. He's not a "firebrand" or a wild eyed lunatic with his tongue hanging out. He simply reported the facts that occurred to him.

He is being raked over the coals because he is such an admired figure and is an iconic symbol of the rock culture. The Powers That Be have said that adverse information is forbidden, and that there can be no tolerance of Clapton in spouting anything other than the "accepted doctrine" being used in Big Pharma's propaganda.

No rational thought or critical thinking is being applied to him. Our culture's knowledge base is 5 miles wide and 1 inch deep. Most of the spokesmen cursing and putting down Clapton these days gravitate towards the shallow end of the intellectual swimming pool.

“Oh for God’s sake, I’ve never played rock. Cream was two jazz players and a blues guitarist playing improvised music.
We never played the same thing two nights running… It was jazz.” ~ Ginger Baker

Accidents involving young kids like Eric's son occur in the world every few seconds. Youth is a Landmine.

What is your problem saying Sad and Sad about every famous artist over 80 years old ? That is no sad about them if they are still alive and most in good health. Stop it !. be proud of them.

Great photo's of Eric, some of the rest of the video seems a bit out place at times and the narration seems strange with some pronunciations. Comes across as virtually AI in places.
Eric is not living a sad life and we feel this is incorrect and basically clickbait.

Ich erinnere mich noch genau:
Clapton verließ die Yardbirds, weil sie den Blues verrieten und zur Schlagerkapelle mutierten - für 50 Silberlinge.
