Fascinating insight. After listening to this it is pretty hard....unless you are wilfully blind...to deny "Shake-speare's" knowledge of the inner court life and gossip.

I'm curious about the parallels on other court intrigue as well, like the life of Amelia Bassano Lanier Johnson & oh say the Taming of the Shrew & Othello & possibly others

Has any Shakespeare Twelfth Night scholar ever noticed that Malvolio is Latin for I want evil? Mal = evil (English derivative example, malific) plus volio = I want (English derivative example, volition). The Earl of Oxford would certainly have known this, probably from the time he was 10.
