Grosses Glühwürmchen / Lampyris noctiluca #Shorts

Ein grosses Glühwürmchen (Weibchen). Lat. Lampyris noctiluca. In der ganzen Schweiz heimisch aber nicht immer leicht zu entdecken, obwohl das Licht in der Dunkelheit locker aus 10 Metern Distanz klar zu sehen ist. Sobald zB. ein Blatt davor ist muss man Glück (oder die Technik) haben beim vorbeilaufen genau den Winkel zu treffen in dem das Blatt nicht mehr den Blick darauf verdeckt, da es nicht wirklich seine Umgebung erhellt, sondern nur sein eigenes Leuchten direkt gut zu sehen ist. Viel Erfolg bei der Suche und nicht anfassen und schon gar nicht mit nach Hause nehmen. Der Grund ist einfach erklärt, die Weibchen leuchten erst nach ca. 4 Jahren Wachstum richtig (Larvenstadium, leuchtet wenig keine Paarung möglich) aber dann nur knapp 4 Wochen in denen sie einen Partner finden und Eier legen müssen. Auf Tage gerechnet und aus unserer Sicht, ca.1460 Tage alt wirst Du, hast dann aber nur maximal 48 Tage für die Paarung, willst du dabei gestört werden? Dieses Tier hat einige Bedürfnisse an seine Umgebung, wo es zu sehen ist steht es nicht schlecht um die Natur und seine Biodiversität.

A large firefly (female). Lat. Lampyris noctiluca. Native to all of Switzerland but not always easy to spot, although the light is clearly visible in the dark from a distance of 10 meters. As soon as there is a leaf in front of it, you have to be lucky (or have the technique) to find the angle where the leaf does not obscure the view, because it does not really illuminate its surroundings, but only its own glow is directly visible. Good luck with your search and don't touch it and certainly don't take it home. The reason is simply explained, the females shine only after about 4 years of growth properly (larval stage, shines little no mating possible) but then only barely 4 weeks in which they must find a partner and lay eggs. Calculated on days and from our point of view, ca.1460 days old you will be, but then have only a maximum of 48 days for mating, do you want to be disturbed? This animal has some needs to its environment, where it is seen it is not bad for nature and its biodiversity.
