I am very sick and tired of hearing this statement, "if you not happy in Singapore, leave lah! Why still stay??" This is a very simplistic response and shows a complete lack of thought and understanding. I tell you why I don't leave though I am not happy. Because I love my country but hate my government. You may not agree to the reasons why I hate my government but at least respect them. Because the bath water is dirty but the baby is still in it, so do you throw the whole tub out with the baby just because there's dirty water in it? I wish such people could comprehend the difference between nation/country and government. Just because I love my country does not mean I must unthinkingly support my government regardless of their actions and policies. Just because I don't support my government does not mean I am not a loyal Singaporean. I am a loyal Singaporean. I was born here and I will likely die here. I will die for my God, my family and for Singapore. I currently do not support the PAP. Do not call me disloyal. Do not tell me to leave my home because I do not agree with my government. Respect my right to tell my government I do not agree with the path they have taken with my country, through my vote.
