Real nostalgia...NGF 998 was my first car in 1961and was in the family until 1977. A farmer had owned it after the AA and I bought it from a Rover dealer. Thought it had had gone for scrap, but you never know! What a superb job of recreating the non-standard hardtop and interior. Congratulations to all...!

I found myself smiling all the way through this video.
Back in the 70's as a kid i lived on a large estate owned by a prominent Lord and Lady on shoot days they had a gorgeous series one 7 seater with safari roof that was only ever used for that purpose from new, it was immaculate but used hard, any dings or bangs on the day of the shoot and it would be down getting repaired on the monday!

They also had (my favourute to ride in) was an Austin 7 with a woody back made by the estates own carpenters when it was new to hang the birds in it.
It also had double wheels on the back (bolted together) to stop it sinking.

Saving a lot of History, in this day, people often forget the contribution that Land Rover made to service vehicles in the Home market, and indeed, the world market. Now, the other world manufacturers have taken on the provision of this Niche. Cheers

A cracking compendium of Series 1 models. I love that these are not only around but in working order as well. The attention to detail for the AA restoration is brilliant. This sort of work requires a passion. These cars have a personality that is arguably something that may have waned over the years with modern cars. You can fix these cars with a spanner, a hammer and some old gloop in a tin on a shelf somewhere next to a tin of things. Many thanks for sharing.

You lucky duck! I love a bit of patina, but you can't argue with the quality of this collection. Cheers

An amazing video Matt my late uncle would have loved that collection he worked at Rover Solihull 1968-2001 and much of that time on the Land Rover defenders and Land Rover 88/109 as well as the rover saloons he was in the paint shop and on assembly he always loved seeing them until he passed last September and one of his treasured possessions was a silver Land Rover 90 the company gave staff for the anniversary of production

When I first became a road user in 1976 there were loads of these still in use and I hated them when out on narrow lanes at night. The close together headlamps made them appear further away than they actually were!

Beautiful collection,
Awesome video!
Noisy, rattles, drafty, leaks, a bit of work to drive, slow, and puts a smile on my face is how I describe my 1966 S2A. 88”. Unrestored, It was still in daily use on a cattle ranch outside of Fresno, California, until I brought it home still with cow manure on its tires. No rust on chassis or bulkhead.
There is something about a Series Landy that endears itself to you. It draws a small crowd whenever I go to the hardware store, and attracts lots of waves and thumbs up.
Named for the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” ride at Disneyland; no vehicle has ever made me smile like “ Dr. Jones”.
Cheers

Fab collection, thank you for sharing that! Amused by the mention of Exford garage, my friend and I stopped by last year with our Series Rover's, in search of a replacement switch whilst in the area... still very much Land Rover mechanics.

What a collection! I'm jealous! This collection would rival even Land Rover's corporate collection.

Brilliant video about an exceptional collection. I saw a sticker on the back of a Land Rover years ago that said something like "a ferrari can go a lot faster, but this Land Rover can go anywhere i want" Give me the Land Rover rather than the aforementioned lesser vehicle any day or week or month or year!!!

Love Land Rovers. I drove a series one and a brand new one last year as a driving experience present for my 40 birthday. The series 1 really did put a huge smile on my face.

As a Yank, my earliest interest in these older Rovers was the movie Born Free. American television during the 60’s had a lot of movies and tv shows based in Africa. Now, I own a 2013 LR 4. V-8. I absolutely love it and I car camp in it and it’s never given me any trouble! Beautiful collection! Just fascinating!

Had a 51 series one driven overland from Australia back to the UK taking a few years to make the journey .
I bought it off the Australian owner and drove it for about 10 years before passing it on.
Custodian is a good word for it.
I would love another (one day maybe).
