ILLUSTRATOR LIVE DRAWING TRICKS *MIND BLOWING*

Today we explore the live mirror drawing function in Illustrator, and I show you why it’s awesome. In the tutorial, I show you some beginner techniques and then more advanced techniques with the live mirror drawing function, in Adobe Illustrator.

The live mirror drawing function is quite obscure and not many designers know or utilise it. It is very customisable, and it does have lots of uses. One of the main use for it is to create symmetrical digital illustrations, but also it can be handy for icon and logo design. It does have other uses, but these are the main issues that I personally see within the live mirror drawing function.

Todays Illustrator tutorial is split up into 2 sections, the first shorter section is based on the mirror live drawing functions as a beginner, and then later in the tutorial we move into a more advanced design space. But I believe that both techniques are fine for most designers, if you careful listen and watch, whilst recreating it step by step for yourself.

A simple way to center things is to do cmd 0 to fit the artboard in the window, and then cut whatever you want to be centered to the clipboard and paste it and it will be centered on the artboard.

Really cool stuff! Love it.
Although I am having some difficulties when I have created my "mirror" logo. When I have the final result, I want to be able to cut away all the masks and other stuff, so that I can edit the shapes individually.
I have expanded the object, but I am left with alot of paths and lines in the selection.
