English muffins are so easy to make. Simply follow all my tips، tricks and exact measurements to make perfect english muffins on your first try.
INGREDIENTS:
450 g bread flour/ 3 1/2 cups
1 cup lukewarm water
2 1/2 tsp instant yeast /12 g
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup semolina or corn meal
1/2 cup of plain yogurt
PREPARATION:
Remove 1/2 cup of water and mix it in with the yeast, let it stand for 5 minutes.
Add the salt to the flour
Add the yeast mixture to the flour, then add the yogurt to the flour. Start mixing the dough then add the rest of the water.
Knead the dough until very smooth.
Let it rest covered for one hour. One hour later turn the dough gently then use a rolling pen to flatten the dough into 3/4 inch thickness. Use a 3 inch cookie cutter to cut out circles. sprinkle with semolina on both sides.
Cover and let the circles rest for 30 minutes.
Cook the dough in a hot skillet for 7-8 minutes, keep on flipping until done and golden on both sides.
