The slim volume by Nikos Kazantzakis, entitled The Saviors of God, might well be regarded as one of the truly seminal works of the Twentieth Century. Responding to the decline in religious engagement that characterized the century, Kazantzakis sought to enunciate a new approach to man's examination of his own spirituality.
