JCM SLASH 2555SL + BOSS GE-7 Slash Tone Settings

Slash's sound is oftenly misunderstood as too gainy and very trebly/mid sounding, well its actually not. I made these settings to show that. these sound very very close to some of his tones, without being super gainy and mid/treble focused. As you can see i have not even cranked the AMP, i play at bedroom level. I hope you like it and will try these settings out, they will work in a band situation too. - These settings can be used without the GE-7 too and sound absolutely killer.. but it just gives it the last kick for pure Rock n' Roll. The sweet spot is having the output master set at 6. Use the settings wisely. Enjoy. iiii]; )'

I got this amp (JCM Slash). These settings are legit. Better than the Slash settings in the amp manual.

Well said! This amp is a beast. I love the rich mids rock sound with just as much treble that is needed for the guitars to come across and a nice amount of bass. Heavy bottom just makes everything wider. I guess it varies by each amp somewhat. Love this amp, never had one of these but got to try it sometime!

The 10-band EQ setting is an absolute banger! Legit af. I've been rocking the mid boost (sad face) with a 10-band EQ, and it’s ok but not the best. I tried this today after watching the video last night, and wow, the sound I have been looking for ages is there. I used the EQ settings on in my JCM800, and it’s killer.

Oddly enough, in my mini-jube, they sound so so. I like them better on the JCM800. Something is missing something on the tone stack of the Jube settings. Been trying to match them, and I can’t. 

JCM sounds louder and more open; the EQ makes it an instant slash. The jube is compressing, and the presence so backed down makes it distant (in my case). I'm using Marshall v30 on the Jube and v30 on the JCM. 

JCM settings are p6 b7 m5.5 t5.5 master1 g8 (sounds amazing). + the EQ 

Jube settings are the ones on the start of the video, as are the EQ settings used in front.

Hey man, i realize this is an older post of yours but had a question about the Boss EQ. I have been using modeling amps for a long time but just recently got a friedman amp that is meant to have a modded marshal vibe. Great sounding amp but definitely needs to help to get into the slashy range. I ordered a BOSS GE-7. Do you tend to run these EX pedals in front of the amp or in the effects loop? I am still learning about all this stuff. SO far I have a tube screamer in the front and a delay in the effects loop. Just wondering where I should out the BOSS once I get it? Thanks!

Cool video!! Interesting approach getting the high end from the guitar signal instead of from the amp eq. I agree that what his tone has come to now is not about some crazy mid hump, but then again his tone has undergone an evolution from the appatite era to present time.

My ge7 produces a ton of hiss when I crank above what you have here for home practice. For volumes like this you can't hear the eq hiss but its bad at gig volumes. Maybe running through the loop would counter this? I'll have to try it out.

Great Tone dude. Do u have the QZone engaged ? What are you reverb/delay settings ? (are they added in your pedalboard or post recording ?)
