Howl's moving castle is actually not Ghibli's idea. It is the idea of a wonderful author, . When she was around 80 years old, the creator of Ghibli Studios wanted to bring it to life. She agreed, and she was the first person to watch Howl's Moving Castle. I think she cried at the end of the movie. I suggest reading the real book. It is a longer and more detailed version of this adventure. The movie is beautiful too. They are both equally wonderful. More details about the book according to Wikipedia: Howl's Moving Castle is a fantasy novel by British author Diana Wynne Jones, first published in 1986 by Greenwillow Books of New York. It was a runner-up for the annual Boston Globe–Horn Book Award, and won the Phoenix Award twenty years later.
