Alright so for you lore lovers here is what I’ve found:
This takes place before the cracker island music video perhaps even a direct prequel, we know this as cracker island was a vision into the future by Russ. We also know Russ has started to go crazy due to the static channel, because 2D and Murdoc both have spoken about it. Murdoc states he can’t help but feel bad for Russ as he’s losing his mind. 2D is a bit less concrete as the audio file is from the static channel however we see Russ just staring blankly refusing to eat. More then likely this would have already happened or going to happen soon. It’s very easy to note that this takes place very close to the Hollywood sign which is a Chekhov’s gun of sorts as we know there will be an accident underneath. This means this will more then likely take place directly before cracker island.

Apenas escuché un pedazo de la canción y ya me encanta, no entiendo porque la gente dice que Gorillaz ya no hace canciones como Feel Good Inc o Clint Eastwood, si yo creo que esa es la idea, experimentar y probar cosas nuevas, cada álbum tiene un estilo diferente y eso es lo que hace únicos a Gorillaz, el hecho de que las canciones ya no suenen como esas, no significa que sean peores, y es que jamás hay que comparar la calidad de una canción con la popularidad de otras, no todas las canciones reciben el reconocimiento que merecen
Además a veces se nos olvida que la música no es sólo para nosotros, sino también para los mismos artistas
