Day 3 of 'Making Sake on Sado' sees us meet the Shubo - the mother of sake - but not before we get our koji groove on for the final time! We also showcase more of beautiful Sado Island and visit the Sado Island Gold Park to prospect for gold. Kanpai!

IT CAN NOW BE REVEALED! In the summer of 2021, I spent one week making Japanese Sake at Gakkogura - a brewery school run by Obata Shuzo. Now, you can join me on this adventure in a multi-part documentary series exclusive to Kanpai Planet.

We want YOU to be a part of our growing community of Japanese drinks lovers! Kanpai!

Such a pleasure to help technically review this series. Not that there was much to review. You had already produced a solid piece of work and really done your research well. You should be really proud of what you have achieved. This series just keeps getting better and better. Please share and help this series get the views it thoroughly deserves.

Loving this series, thank you for sharing! I never knew all the hard word that goes into sake and you present it wonderfully!

This is HUGE, Mac. You have taken this to a new level. If you haven't done so already, then share this video. I don't know where you get more education per minute than what I'm seeing here. Hats off, my friend!

Kanpai!

Even better the 2nd time! As I mentioned on LinkedIn, watching this is an anthropologist's "rice-culture" dream!

Sake never sleeps, and neither does Mac, bringing another awesome episode here!

Who would have thought that there’s so much to learn (zzz) regarding sake making? Wash, steam, separate, shake the magic mould pepper pot, pile up, wrap, let sleep, unwrap, break up, separate lumps, more pepper pot, mound up, wrap again…and educational, edificational terminology to pick up along the way! Splendid!
I bet they’re booked out till Christmas…😂

I’m getting déjà vu - I feel like I’ve seen this masterpiece before? Equally as good the second time round! As I said previously, these videos are easily the highlight of my week.

From gangster inoculations, gold panning to bathtub boats - this is top tier stuff.

So keen for the next one Mac! Kanpai!

I love the meticulous attention to detail, like folding the sacks (I do that) and 10 blankets (cuz 9 probably wouldn't do). A great watch. 🥃🌾

I'm not a big saké drinker, but I still find this fascinating! Great job!

Brilliant video Mac. “Sake never sleeps”! I can’t wait for the next episode. The next time I drink some sake I’ll think of you washing those bags.
