So I was looking around google for stuff to build, and i came across this picture. Its not the typical nelson bench, those from what I can tell have box jointed type ends and a middle support, maybe that'll be the next project.

Anyways I wanted to build a little bench for by my door, nothing huge, some where to put shoes on and off with "storage" underneath it.

So mines a little thicker on all front, bench top and legs. So its a little different than the photo i found, but its intentional.

I bought the wood (Merbau) to make a Nelson bench and was planning on using this method, but hadn’t seen anyone else do it. I was starting to think o was missing something structurally and that I was about to find out the hard way it wouldn’t work, so this video helped a lot - thank you!

Making a similar bench. How is gluing and nailing the spacers in holding up? Was concerned that over time it might fail.

Does it bend at all in the middle? i feel as though without one long piece of wood it wouldn't be able to support too much weight
