Santisima Trinidad - Part 16 - Paint chipping effects on hull

Part 16 of the Santisima Trinidad build, in this video i paint the hull, all of it has paint chipping effects done with valejo chipping medium and using valejo acrylic paint

I apply a layer of matt varnish to prevent the wood from absorbing the chipping medium, then a layer of chipping medium, then airbrush th paint, and with a hard bristle brush i chip the paint

On your previous video’s on wheathering the inside and bow, i can’t remember you mentioning varnish and chipping effect layer before chipping. Did i miss it or did you change technique? If you did change, can you explain what is the difference or why? Great owork - keep on posting pls - my next project Will be a rusty wheathered tugboat so this is extremely useful 👍😀
