I can see egpu as a future thing when you can add matchbox size ones specifically designed to be much smaller. Reminds me of an Amiga device that you could plug in externally and gain new graphic modes.

Respectfully, I'm not sure if the primary benchmark of a handheld should involve an external GPU. I don't expect the integrated performance to blow my mind, but focusing on the features that make it unique is what I'm curious to see. Some gameplay using the xinput pad, performance on battery vs AC, etc. Knowing thunderbolt is there and useable in this way is great though. I think it's a niche scenario that someone needs to save on the space of a traditional laptop and controller, and then tosses that large GPU enclosure in a bag. That said, if you have these set up at home/work, etc, and the idea is to only toss the GPD in a bag, that's certainly easy. Either way, thanks for the video and the effort. It's not always going to be exactly what I want, and that's fine! I bet this would be a fantastic emulator machine. Wonder if it could handle PCSX2 and Saturn

I think eGPUs run better on external monitors so you might wanna try rerunning your benchmarks that way.
