it's worth noting that musk's gesture at the inauguration is a very similar move to the poster at 0:50 by the way.
the intention in both cases is to give a clear message to the far right, but at the same time to be able to claim the opposite - oh it's actually something different, not a nazi salute at all etc. he clearly knows what he's doing by giving it a veil of ambiguity. that is the exact point. the nazis are entertained, the normal people are fooled

Remember kids; back when the Nazis first came to power in Germany some 100 years ago, some people thought they were reasonable and patriotic too! Others also thought that Germany was under threat, and that they needed to preserve their nation from being overrun by 'outside powers'. Of course, the terrible results are still remembered a century later. Did Europe (and the West) learn their lesson from the terrible atrocities that happened in WWII? Or do we need to see another Reich, this time equipped with advanced technology, nukes, and AI that can throw us into a war humanity wont be able to recover from?

Germans should be calling for the ban of Musk products within Germany, and a total ban on him producing anything or doing business of any kind there. Maybe ask the entire EU to join them as well.
