While Trinamool Congress leader Riju Datta, one of the speakers debating for the motion, said secularism was dying because the ruling BJP practised "majoritarianism", BJP's Shehzad Poonawalla countered him, asserting that "Nehruvian secularism" gave nothing to the country.
