I love history. My hometown of San Diego has Old Town which contains many historical landmarks. And we have many missions.. Also Balboa Park has numerous museums and, of course. The San Diego Zoo...one of the best in the world. The zoo and the park buildings started with the world exposition in the early 1900s and the animals stayed...hence the zoo.

Hi Bunny.. great vid.. I see you did a lot of research and put in a lot of time in production.. etc.. so.. kudos for that..

however.. as an indigenous woman (Sandia Pueblo NM) living in Northern Arizona.. it's hurtful to celebrate or honor the "pioneers" and label our people as savage killers who ambushed and massacred for no reason..

we occupied this land for millennia.. and the pioneers.. settlers and the US government committed a genocide against us whose death toll eclipses that of the german holocaust..

"According to historical records and media reports, since its founding, the United States has systematically deprived Indians of their rights to life and basic political, economic, and cultural rights through killings, displacements, and forced assimilation, in an attempt to physically and culturally eradicate this group. Even today, Indians still face a serious existential crisis.

According to international law and its domestic law, what the United States did to the Indians covers all the acts that define genocide and indisputably constitutes genocide. The American magazine Foreign Policy commented that the crimes against Native Americans are fully consistent with the definition of genocide under current international law."

therefore.. and.. with all due respect.. in order to achieve your stated goal of learning about the past to forge a better future.. you can't ignore the bitter and cold truth..

there's a whole other side to our history and eliminating the reasons behind such tragedies does nothing to spur change or create a better tomorrow.. at least not from an indigenous perspective..

please note.. each cowboy story is not as it seems.. for example.. history tells us that these savage "indians" scalped white men.. when the literal opposite is true.. there were bounties on our heads.. and the US government paid good money for the massacre of our people and the proof for payment was OUR scalps..

so.. please.. in full disclosure.. research deeper.. and.. please don't celebrate the "pioneers".. thank you

Red flag for me is the horses being taken out, I just can't believe an Indian would do that.??
