George Clooney's adaptation of "Good Night, and Good Luck" brings journalists Edward R. Murrow, Fred Friendly and Don Hewitt back to life, telling the story of their fight against Senator Joseph McCarthy.

"60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

Was a good movie. 🍿 Am 76 but our younger generations need more of this kind of historical entertainment 😅

Cool that they're adapting that film as a play. And yes, it's very pertinent to our current times.

David Strathairn played Murrow better than Clooney. It just suits him a lot better, as he has that 1950s aura around him. And Clooney should do the Coronado High movie he was talking about more than decade ago.

Loved the movie. Not sure it will translate to stage.

...from Edward R Murrow standing up to McCathy to CBS itself appeasing Trump. ...How the mighty have fallen.

And the ticket prices are obscene! Celebrity cast price gouging on Broadway is an abomination and has ruined theater in New York.

I used to talk to Don every Sunday afternoon during the NFL season when he would call the studio and ask to talk to The Girl- then he'd ask me when the hell I was gonna get off his air so we'd get to 60 Minutes. He was like my annoying obnoxious grandfather and I loved him for it. 60 Minutes and CBS Sunday Morning are still my top two programs ever.
