It fixed the Photosphere crash I was getting before the update, so good job on that.

This popped up as an update on my Nexus 5 earlier today. Simple and badass. The display is WYSIWYG now so what's seen is actually what's captured, that's not a "loss" on the camera "shutter" bar, it's a side effect of the correct aspect ratio being displayed. If you want 16:9 ratio, crop your picture because that's what any camera app has to do when you set it to that ratio–crop the upper and lower extremities of what's in the FOV of the lens.

Google Camera came out today. Thankfully it's a nice simple app so I didn't need a lot of time to give it a proper review...so here's my review.

Cool, great improvement (using a nexus device). Lens blur was entertaining. A tip for people though, when using photo sphere, make sure to keep the rotation centralized around the lens. DO NOT MOVE THE PHONE ITSELF. Doing so will give some stitching issues

It has more features than my Moto X camera, so I can't complain. I was looking for a way to get photosphere and so I'm glad that Google have finally supplied their camera app on Google Play. It'll be good to see even more features in the future to make for a desirable alternative to the manufacturer's default.

I hope google adds some more manual controls. Like a lot more. At the very least, hopefully, they'll add control over the exposure triangle.

It freaked me out at first, didn't realize they had updated XD. Once you get used to it it's pretty good, though I did notice some stuttering while shooting a quick video. One thing I really don't like is how big the shutter button is. The view finder isn't full screen anymore and that's pretty lame. Hopefully they change that.

It could just be psychosomatic, but it feels like the camera focuses more quickly and takes an overall higher quality picture than it did previously (I'm using a Nexus 4).
