A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is an audiobook by George R.R. Martin, which is a compilation of three prequel novellas set in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, taking place nearly a century before the events of the main series. The audiobook is narrated by Harry Lloyd and follows the adventures of the unlikely duo: Ser Duncan the Tall, a hedge knight, and his squire, Egg, who is later revealed to be Aegon V Targaryen.

The three novellas included in the collection are:

The Hedge Knight: The story begins with Duncan the Tall, a young and inexperienced hedge knight attending a tourney at Ashford. There, he meets Egg, who insists on becoming his squire. After a confrontation leads to the accidental death of a royal family member, Dunk is forced into a trial by combat to prove his innocence.

The Sworn Sword: In this tale, Dunk and Egg serve under the banner of Ser Eustace Osgrey, an elderly and impoverished lord. They are sent to investigate the Red Widow, Lady Rohanne Webber, who is accused of stealing water during a drought. Dunk and Egg uncover a tangled web of deception and intrigue, eventually resolving the conflict and restoring peace.

The Mystery Knight: Dunk and Egg attend a wedding at Whitewalls, where a secret plot to overthrow the Targaryen dynasty is brewing. Disguised as mystery knights, they enter a tourney in hopes of unraveling the conspiracy. They eventually expose the plotters and prevent a rebellion, further strengthening the bond between Dunk and Egg.

The audiobook provides an insightful look into the history of Westeros, featuring memorable characters and captivating stories. Harry Lloyd's narration brings these tales to life, transporting listeners to the world of knights, chivalry, and political intrigue that is George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.

So damned good, I never read any of the dunk and egg stories. I read asoiaf and fire and blood, this was such a comforting return to the world of westeros.

Ive thought long and hard about it...I've listened to the male versions of the audiobooks... I've listened to many.

This one is my favorite. Sure, she absolutely gets occasional pronunciations wrong it's true.

But her consistency and tambour put her miles above the rest. Even before Amazon Audiobooks.

At first I didn't like the female voice especially for ASOIAF. It's a story of men by men right?

But I cannot insist enough, you will not fall asleep easily to the current male voice readings. This is the best one to listen to again and again.

She is consistent, and reads it like a mom telling you a bedtime story.

I'm not sure what else you could ask for.

I love Dunk and Eggs "universe" so much better. I get the appeal of ultra grim dark dark-y-ness but after a while its just a little too edgy for me. Thanks for the upload

I really enjoyed this narrator reading SOIAF books. I am looking forward to having her take me to and through the 7 kingdoms. Also if you are thinking about getting the audiobooks for GOT series. You are better off listening to it here on YouTube. I have heard nothing but negative reviews, on the narrator.
