1980 was the year after my dad died and a rough transition from elementary to jr. high school. Every one of these songs was my best friend and helped me get through it.

1980, a year of changes for me. There was the Salt River flood in February that nearly cut Phoenix in two, I also graduated from 8th grade at M.C. Cash School and started high school at Trevor Browne. As you can tell, I turned 14 that year.

1980/1981 were such great years music wise, such a variety of genres were major hits. You had rock, pop, disco, soul, r&b and country all making high climbs on the charts throughout the first 2 years of the 80s
