A monumental masterpiece from Gerhard Richter’s celebrated cycle of abstract paintings is to headline Sotheby’s London Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale on 1 March 2023. Of spectacular proportions, spanning four metres across, Abstraktes Bild, 1986, is one of the first large-scale paintings from the series ever created by the artist, boasting a size and chromatic intensity rarely found even within the grand arc of the artist’s monumental masterworks.

The transition of color that is dramatic with lines of color with multi color from the line to pure color just inches away .
From a distance its like a pollock painting but up close more vibrant.

Masterpiece you say? lol Well I guess auction houses are in business of selling not art. They can sell air conditioner to Eskimos. So what is one more "masterpiece" here and there. lol

A masterpiece? I don't even consider this for an art. No shape, no meaning, no message, no deep... only colours. Child play....
