This game has been such a crazy journey. So much lore, wild adventures, and insane braining, but it was all worth it leading it up to the end Thank you so much for playing this super fun game! OtsuPP OtsuWiwa! This was an incredible adventure, I'm so happy you two got to experience the ending together! Also I want to reassure Elira that we Pomudachis love her too and are always happy to see her on Pomu's channel! I think that just as much as Pomu helped Elira by braving through the finale in her stead, Elira helped Pomu by supporting her and suggesting ideas and encouraging her to keep going to the end. In the end, Pomu and Elira created a new universe together! The cutest couple We'd be more than happy to have Elira back when Pomu does the DLC!

And now for a silly confession. To be honest, when Pomu first streamed this game, I kinda just kept it in the background and wasn't paying much attention to the game, but each subsequent Outer Wilds stream drew me in more and more until I was completely hooked by the part before this one. I kinda regret that now because the lore is so rich and fascinating and tragic. I'm glad the Ash Twin Project had all the older scrolls since I missed those. Normally I'm not a fan of the "resetting the universe" trope but the execution was done very well.

Outer wilds DLC is the one of best DLC i ever played and i 100% recommend it, it can be bit spooky at time, but it's really not that bad, and in worse case scenario there is easy mode .

The universe begins and ends with a song. What a cool video game! What a great use of quirky mechanics, super cool music (those final tracks are incredible) and great way to convey the story it wanted to tell.

Also huge props to you for doing the final run, the game asks you to do a big trip from one end of the system to the other with little perceived room for mistakes, but you pulled through, I very much thank Elira for joining and being the support you needed since it seems we weren't exactly doing a great job at it. You two also managed to pull the final pieces of the puzzle together and those were some pretty complicated things to figure out (I honestly forgot how many steps it took to even get to the black hole forge). Adding to this, you were a little too fixated with the comet but eventually figured out pretty much everything there was on the story...

Still, brainrot compels me to write a timeline of the events that happened just in case there was a little confusion as to what happened.



The setting of the story is deceptively grim since it starts in what can only be called the "slow and agonizing death of the universe" the Nomai were one of the space-faring species who were hopping from system to system in order to keep on living as stars (and their systems) kept on dying. One of the clans (Escall) stumbles upon a signal apparently older than the universe itself which prompts them to follow it, unfortunately, the signal was so short-lived and in their attempt to warp towards it they end up getting brambles, and you know how that went.


Three escape pods are launched, only two make it out, the next years are spent discovering the system they are stranded into and keep searching for the eye. You more or less pieced everything together and how they come to the conclusion than the best way to find the eye is the Ash Twin Project. The Project consisted of gathering the data from the orbital probe and send it 22 minutes into the past with the energy of the sun going supernova (thanks to the sun station), however, the Nomai were unable to force the sun to explode.

Just as they were coming up to terms to the fact their project wasn't going to work the interloper shows up on the system, the Nomai decide to investigate it and it ends up exploding after getting too close to the sun, spreading what we know in game as ghost matter all across the system. Ghost matter is very unfriendly to life and ends up wiping out every single Nomai on the system (and who knows what other lifeforms suffered the same fate). The only reason Hearthians managed to survive is because at that point in time they as a species were little more than tadpoles living underwater (water actually nullifies ghost matter effects).

Thousands of years pass since the Escall Nomai went extinct, their structures are still on the system but life moved way past them, Hearthians become a space faring species and eventually the sun (and not much later the universe) dies, and that should be pretty much it.

However, the energy of the sun going supernova naturally manages to power up the long since abandoned Ash Twin Project and it starts sending data to the past, this cycle keeps repeating itself until one of the probes miraculously manages to find the eye of the universe and THIS is the moment where the other statues activate (this phase of the project was supposed to activate if the project succeeded or catastrophically failed) and our protagonist (plus Garbo) get themselves into the timeloop that kicks off the games events.

That's more or less it! You kinda discovered everything but I wasn't sure if you were 100% sure about when the Nomai disappeared and the minor details about the project. Once again, I'm super happy you cleared this journey and I can't wait for the day you eventually get into the DLC.
