You'd want to do the bottom and then sides first. Then you can do the back and top. That way when water hits the back and runs down it wont keep running below the bottom tile and compromise the wall. That is unless you are leaving a space at the bottom when you are doing the backing first in order to be able to slip the bottom tiles under the back.

I definitely do back last. To be fair, he said “easiest” and “quickest” way. Not the “best” way. Doing the back first is definitely easier… cutting certain mosaic glass perfectly sucks. but if you back first, you’ll have a vulnerable joint where water can eventually get behind and under the bottom tile. And when water “can”, water WILL!!

Winni, Isn't there a water shedding benefit to tiling the perimeter (bottom and top, then sides) prior to back so the water falls into the slope? I've done it that way but takes extra time

can you use grout caulk instead of grout?
or re-grout then use silicone caulk

Negative, you do the bottom, then the sides and top and the back goes in last. So the water doesn't get back behind.
