i really don't think Natalie understands how damn good that movie was/is. saw it back in early 90's and it is on my top 5 list of all time.. just amazing movie.

Great idea, but the magic of the story was the relationship between the two wounded souls of Leon and Mathilda. Jean Reno's interpretation of Leon was so important to the success of the movie that I don't know how they could capture the atmosphere of the original with anyone else in the male lead role.
They hit the jackpot when they paired the characters of lonely Leon with the orphaned, and emotionally wounded Mathilda. Two great actors in an amazing movie.

The sequel:
The film opens on the funeral of Tony the mobster, who after Leon died, was the closest thing Matilda had to a father figure… he used her skills as a “cleaner”, and kept her identity a secret as she grew. However, now Tony is dead and it seems someone has figured out who his secret assassin is, and soon she is being hunted and recruited by the cities most powerful and dangerous figures…
