My Grandma used to make plum jam, she called it jelly but it was jam. She used to make cases of it and stored them in my Grandpa's bedroom closet. I miss them both and their jam SO MUCH.

Plums are great for baking in my opinion, my mom used to make soft spongecake on the bottom with quartered plums dropped into the dough and topped with cookie crumps, that become all crunchy, balanes the sourness of the plum and served with sweetened whipped cream🤤

Plum preserve is so delicious it has EVERYTHING you'd want a jam to be !!
Beautiful colour, delicious aroma perfect balance of acid and sugar, as well as creating the stable pectin jelly while it cooks.
Now, you can re-name this tree as the Plum Jam Tree 🌳 🍯
In certain countries in Central Asia namely Sakarthvelo (= aka Georgia)
They cook the almost ripe, but tart unripe plums into a sour sauce . Used in stews and savory condiments.

I bought a Victoria plum tree 2 years ago. Last year I had 3 plums, but this year the tree has been covered in blossom. Fingers crossed I will be able to make jam in a few months time. I'm in England - Happy St. George's Day.

My family been always making plum jams since i remember. They taste the best with white cheese on dark bread, or inside doughnuts.

2nd best. The best plums for jam you can't buy though, although they grow wild in parts of the US. They're called Beach plums.
