The warmth continues this week with temperatures more than 20 degrees above normal! But that warmth isn't permanent, and the spring-like weather has an expiration date.
On Wednesday, the high temp will be about 75 degrees in Raleigh. Clouds will move in Wednesday, and spotty showers can't be ruled out. On Thursday, the high will be about 76 degrees, more than 20 degrees above normal.

Then the cold front arrives.

With the warm weather ahead of that, parts of the south could see severe weather in the coming days. Fortunately, we should just see rain in central North Carolina. However, cold temperatures will arrive alongside it. Our next chance for rain is expected to come on Friday, when the high temperature will reach about 63 degrees. We'll see showers on the way to work, but things should clear out by the time the Hurricanes Fan Fest gets underway in downtown Raleigh. We'll cool into the 50s Friday afternoon.

"A lot of the rain really won't arrive until around midnight or after Thursday night into Friday morning," WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell said. "It's likely to be a wet morning commute on Friday." For the Hurricanes outdoor game Saturday night, temperatures look to be in the lower 40s. Looks like good hockey weather!

"Bring your jacket with you if you're headed out that way," Campbell said.
