It’s wild how different the depictions of this character can be. The early manga chapters compared to the the original film adaptation is like night and day.

Cant understand why recent versions of GitS have to be deathly serious.

The Major looks genuinely happy here.

The one major thing I missed from the manga was the silliness and humanity of the characters at times. The Major could go from stone cold to kawaii to ara ara in a matter of a few frames. Or the super/chibi deformed during an absurd comedy scene between the Tachikomas or even with the old man.

honestly, 1995 Major and PS1 Major looked way better than later versions of the character, like I wish they sticked with either of these versions of her personally

I wish we could have had an entire GITS film in this style. I just love that more stylized late 80s/early 90s aesthetic. The 1995 GITS film is an all-time classic and one of my favorite anime films, but I still would have also liked to have seen something that looked closer to Black Magic M-66, Appleseed, and Dominion Tank Police.

Just realizing how much Major looks like Faye Valentine in this game

I got used to the stone-faced "gorilla woman" of GitS: SAC and onward, seeing her so emotive feels kinda weird.

I remember playing this game so hard. I was very moved by the art style, which is exactly the same as the original work. I believe the voice actress of the Major was the late Hiromi Tsuru.
