Do you have a demo so we can hear the improvement?

Interesting!! Could we have a demo to see what difference it makes?!

If you want a strat to sound like a tele in the bridge cut an aluminum ring to fit over the pickup about a quarter inch wide. I’ve dealt with solving the strat bridge pickup problem and this is what works. No other pickup makers have figured this out yet but I’m working with lindy fralin on it. It disrupts the magnetic field and the aluminum works better than steel for some reason. Steel base plates will increase volume but don’t change the tone. Non magnetic base plates do little except stop hum which was their original purpose anyway. When you put something in the middle of the coil you change tone.

I've made myself some of these using an angle grinder and 3mm steel plate. Slight but noticeable difference.

My biggest problem with strat pups is the fact that the magnets aren't balanced properly makes it really easy for the G and D string to overpower everything.

I personally like the sound of strat more. This modification works nicely with distorted sound.

Just a question about how it intensifies bass response. As far as I can tell the 1. It increases inductance slightly which brings the resonant frequency down. 2. Does it actually increase the field and increases harmonic cancellation? This I guess would mean making it sound fatter at the expense of clarity?

I did this today with piece of scrap metal laying around. I didn't ground it and found that my finger tapping on the pick guard was loud like a microphone! Is that normal because I didn't ground it? It totally sounded better, like my Tele, except for that tapping sound.

Would this change or affect a HotRail bridge pickup? Better or worse?

Why not just replace the pickup entirely with one that has more bass response?
