as someone who has literally been on neopets since i was like 6, and is now.. a grown 19 year old ? nothing made me happier than seeing the “under new management” announcement. i’ve been in the r/neopets discord since like 2018 or 2019 i think ?? and it’s been so refreshing seeing so many announcements and posts from actual TNT staff there with such enthusiasm. like it’s genuinely clear that actual neopets staff is so happy to have the reins back in their hands.

also, the borovan “i f//ing hate neopets i wish i never made it because of this chat” incident after everyone clowned on him for trying to use the server to shill his nft propaganda lives in my brain 24/7 and i still can’t believe i was there to witness that convo in real time

Today I went to a bookstore and there was a Neopets cookbook. The recipes were 90% terrible or “no human would make this” but aesthetically it was 10/10, gorgeous full page color and art and clearly whoever made those food abominations tried real hard to make things visually right. The Haunted Hummus was sculpted to have an irl spooky face in it. I would like to thank the Neopets cookbook for making me (a 28 year old adult) look like a freak as my dad stood behind me wondering why someone would have a recipe for a Plain Omelette and why it looked SO terrible

as a neopets fan, i can't wait to see what they do independently. the NFTs were a terrible idea when they couldve done something with physical pieces of art of merch. one thing i wish they would do is re-release or release new neopet plushes.

I left when they converted all the pets. They took some very expressive designs with a lot of good art for body language, and turned them into paper doll puppets for the sake of dress-up with expressions slapped on like stickers, and I just didn't find that as interesting. Still. I'd like to see how they plan on revitalizing it
