I agree you get fed up with it, best to focus on life at the moment, I am washing my winter duvet covers ATM and sod it all.

I'm in maintenance mode and now stocking long life foods. When you have the bases covered it's way more relaxing. Garden of course needs more focus here.

If the power fails, you need light and a way to cook/heat food/boil water.
For water we have a couple of large water butts (you will still need to filter/boil the water) and a stock of bottled water.
For cooking we havea camp stove with the butane cartridges (I have about 35 cartridges), each one last about an hour and a half.
For light we have a couple of dozen solar garden lights (safer than candles and can be recharged in the morning) - cut open a couple of beer cans as reflectors and they are more than adequate for cooking or reading.
Usual stock of emergency food for at least two to three weeks.
The plan - as soon as war is announced my wife and I will leave work and go straight to the bank and get out as much cash as we can. Then get more cash at the hole in the wall. Fill up the cars with fuel and straight to the supermarket to buy as much as we can - all this should take place within 30 minutes of the announcement and before the sheeple wake up and start panic buying.
Then wait and see what happens.
It's a cruel world.

Good points. I think those channels are useful to keep us informed with certain events happening around the world as it saves us the time to 'research' all this info, but to take them with a pinch of salt. Could you imagine social media leading up to WW1/2 - it would be unbearable. I think we shouldn't be naive to think another WW won't happen in our lifetime but there are more local SHTF scenarios we need to focus on.

I agree, many prepping channels get caught up in the benefits of clickbait titles that claim the sky will fall tomorrow, or nuclear Armageddon is imminent. I think it is extremely important to take a step back, as you said. Your timeline for January is understandable, however Trump's actions are often quite volatile, and he may end up taking measures on Ukraine or other conflict hotspots that affect Europe more so, especially with his pledge to focus more on isolationism for the US

Solid advice as always, from what would be an ideal bug out location, especially as you keep it on a need to know basis. Nice work.

Where I live would be considered a bug out location by many. So. I'll be bugging in.

Hi mate, totally agree.
I've never engaged on ww3 scenario largely because for many geography means they are toast. Power and grid down has always been my primary prep scenario, hands down.
Couldnt agree more re striking the happy balace between oreoping and life/ living.
We prep to preserve life and make it easier, but its so, so easy to let it take over.
As always, great video.

Just bought a Itehil water purifier. Lots of videos on line about it and used it in my water butt and it does what it says on the tin.

I prepare for normality, to keep things as normal as possible in the event of a problem. Currently one of my relatives has a health crisis, unable to work for 4 to 6 weeks, I am able to help because I have financially prepped and have a good pantry stock.

Yeah, I agree with most of that I think. I think it's important to look at WW3 the same as any other risk - how likely is it and how severe it might be, and how to mitigate the risk. I think the direct risk to us is rather low, particularly with us being an island nation. The severity, if it does occur, I think would mainly be on global supply chains, impacting food and energy. So, I think focusing on other preps, such as energy and food, is sensible. And if any war does directly effect us, with you being in the countryside, you'd be in a better position than most I think - I doubt any ground invasion would ever happen, and bombings would focus on cities and military sites. It makes sense to me to focus more on the impact of infrastructure failures, regardless of the potential of WW3.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Live your life while preparing. Just another form of insurance

Ditto with that particular channel, he sprinkles in bits of information that make people keep coming back for more, but his political slant is becoming tedious now. ..

We only have electric and recently had a power outage for over 12 hours. I didn`t panic as Ive got gas camping stoves, gravity fed water filter filter, small pocket radio for a bit of music, we were fine. We played Monopoly for a couple of hours and I cooked a nice pasta dinner. It did make me realise that my preps are a bit of a mess so I need to focus on getting them more organised. Need to work on the comms though.

At this point I think it’s wise to just not rule anything out, prep for worst case scenario and anything little that might happen in day to day life will be covered

My grandfather was a prepper he just didn't know lol.
Always an old Eveready torch, a gas ring, food in the cupboard, log fire and wood etc. candles matches. I've always just done the same but I've bought a standalone Chinese diesel heater and a quite large rechargeable power bank. BUT I need a solar panel for it and haven't got a clue what to do.

My preference is to bug in.
I’m not getting into the political stance which my business only.
Prepping for every day eventualities: sickness, job loss, power cuts, food shortages etc is my mantra.
September I’m having a wood burner installed. This is for backup heat source and it looks pretty 😊
I’m going to learn more about food preservation, growing food. I’d love to have a freeze drier but that’s way out of my budget.
Nope not prepping for radiation/nuclear war in a huge way, other than maybe iodine tablets. If it reaches mask point, for me it’ll be game over. I just wouldn’t want to live in that environment. Just a personal preference.

Of course I keep updated on world current affairs, especially with the upcoming 🇺🇸 presidential elections, but WW3, I’m not going to worry about. I’ll carry on with my usual preps and live life.

I heard that the best day is when you buy your boat & the 2nd best day is when you sell it. I'm not trolling. I can't remember where I heard that. It's probably because they are so expensive, I guess

Yes, watching the end of the world WW3 videos for years can get old. At first I was all in and believed it to be true, but now thinking I got a bit suckered into the end of the world is near videos, and those Youtubers are making a business out of it along with there sponsors.
Moving forward, it will be interesting on your solar setup videos, etc. Living in the country, long power failures are very real, along with the shutting down of petrol stations that go with it and good to keep cash on you for blackout transactions. Having backup energy and fuel is a good prep to have on hand and cash. Just the other day in our local small supermarket, the internet (not power) went down, taking the eftpos machines with it. A lot of people were stuck without cash with trolleys of groceries and they said cash only which I could do.
