The trouble with taking DSS clients is that their benifits can be stopped suddenly and the landlords then have no income and a tenant that takes ages and is costly to move out. We bought property for our pension as my husband was self employed. Pets are also a problem, especially cats that have flees and the property then needs fumigating as the next tenant and myself have a reaction to them. Glad we don't have rentals anymore. I know people who are selling up or moving into holiday letting.
This new law will be an own goal and do harm to the rental market.
