World First Warlock Solo: Evrelia vs The Lich King 25 Heroic

I did this fight as Destruction. My talents were Soul Leech, Mortal Coil, Soul Link, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy and Kil'jaeden's cunning.

Destruction became a lot stronger at soloing with the changes to Soul Leech. With your Voidwalkers Void Shield, the Soul Leech effect can stay permanently up on your Voidwalker, meaning Void Shield never triggers and your Voidlord retains 60% damage reduction. This means your pet doesn't need much healing at all. I then also used Rain of Fire to get unlimited burning embers, allowing me to spam Chaos Bolts and do extremely high DPS throughout the fight allowing me to beat his harsh 15 minute enrage timer.

Phase 1 is the most annoying part of the fight (and the cause of most wipes). You need to manage your Voidwalker extremely well to get aggro on every ghoul, to prevent the plague from going in too early, or stacking too high and coming back onto you (although a purification potion can be used in a pinch).

Phase 2 requires you to take a hit from the boss once per minute in order to be marked as a tank so that the Valkyr don't pick you up. More or less if you can get into phase 2 with all the Shamblings dead and you on full HP, you can finish the fight as long as your DPS is high enough.

If I may ask you. At them moment I have an iLevel of 501 and right now I play affliction. Would it be advisable to go destro at this iLevel or is it waiting until I have reached 522 to change to that? Love both specs but I find destro a little more challenging and fun.

Last time I played this game was years ago when my chums and I got our first Lich King kill at level 80, so you can imagine that seeing you with 750k health and critting for almost 900k was ever so slightly strange for me..!

Two transition phases, each one minute.

Three Frostmourne phases, each 50 seconds (40 seconds + cast time + load screen).

So closer to 150k dps. Can dps some during second transition so we'll say 140k.

Destrolocks were not doing anywhere close to 140k unbuffed single target in 5.1. Also, there's a difference between dpsing and doing damage whilst tanking and surviving.

Fact is, the enrage timer was what stopped me, and many others, doing this much sooner, regardless of what you may think.

Also he's in heroic ToT gear. Since his pet is barely taking any damage I would say it's safe to assume you could probably do this in 5.0 gear.
