I recently discovered the Radtel 470-X, and now I have a pair of them. They have many nice features, a very good reciever, with a clear transmitter. The large color screen is very easy to see at night or while indoors, BUT almost disappears in bright sunlight or when wearing polarized sunglasses!
The GOTO Weather Channel are very nice too! Just a push of a programmable button!
The frequency & PL Tone scanner & capture feature is very handy!
If it were waterproof, it might become my new favorite!

Also if you get this radio and probably any Radtel there are 2 screen protectors on them. The big one that is obvious and you will notice the screen will scratch easily after removing it because there is another one that fits the screen perfectly but it will peel off if you start at the corner and reveals a very nice glossy screen.

Since you are a 220 fan, like myself, I would like to see a video comparing all of these tri-banders and see who's the best.

Thanks for saving me the cost of ordering one and returning it after checking for spurious output.

I have two tri band radios, one is the AnyTone 578UV III Plus and the other is a Baofeng AR-5RM and that one I use mostly for monitoring multiple repeaters.

Fantastic Radio, I have 2. Even borderline bricked one and was able to save it. I'm impressed.

Aloha Jason, I bought a pair of the Baofeng A-58s Tri Bander that does 10w before it became the BF-A58s at 5 watts and it has been my “go to” HT ever since. It’s too bad that had only a short run of these from the factory a couple years ago but I may try this radio as a backup HT at $30 USD. 🤙🏻

This is my first radio. So I can learn before I get a more expensive one. I plan to get my licenses.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the Baofeng M-5R I got off Amazon recently to backup my vx6r...

One thing you failed to state is that this radio is unlocked you can transmit on more frequencies than it states. You can transmit on the weather frequencies. All of you who have this HT check all the frequencies that you can transmit on. You can go above all of the frequencies that it says it works on.

I have this radio, squelch stays open for about a second on repeaters. Wound up programming it RX only and gave it to my kid to get him interested in the hobby

I bought 2 Kenwood TH-F6A HTs when they just came out. I like 1.25 meters but it is sorely under used. For a very long time even your "all band, all mode" radios didn't include it. For those of us with 220 MHz capability it's like having your own private band.

Jolly nice review 👍
But I do have a question. Why do people say the 2 meter band but insist on saying 440 (or 220)?
440 is not a band, it is a frequency. They should be saying the 70 centimeter band.
This is how bad habits develop and passed on to others. I know, here come the sad ham comments! 😩

You asked if we have tri-banders what we have, I have a Kenwood TH-F6A, and a Tyt Th-350. The Kenwood is what I use the most, as I've had all sorts of battery issues with the 350. Curious if you'll be reviewing the new Alinco 220 mobile, or if it's pretty much the same as the DR-235 just better dressed and with a new model number.

I came across your channel as a person with zero radio experience while looking into purchasing a Rapid Radio to communicate with my family. Recently during hurricane Beryl, cell phone communication was not possible. Not having contact with my family was worse than being without power in July Texas heat. Could you recommend a radio that can be used in the future? I live in Galveston and have family in Missouri City, Houston, and Livingston that I need to be able to contact in the case of a similar situation in the future. Will you please provide a radio recommendation? I was about to be scammed prior to watching your video about the $70 radio on Rapid Radio. I’ve watched several of your videos before commenting and it is clear to me that you are an expert. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

In the future can you verify if the radio is Chirp Programmable? We need a data exchange standard for radio programming, something like CSV, JSON or XML.

Gracias
