I live in the Northeast....in Canada. We get the water, but we do not flood because we still have 85% of our land covered in trees, not pavement.

So thankful I took extra measures to protect my home from flooding. Added gutters, had excavation done to run water away from foundation and resealed hatchway. My home made it through this wet summer! Protected my barns too doing same for all my structures. Just need to add gutters to front of house and gravel along the borders. Take care of your homes people, cost of wood is ridiculous. All our insurance premiums will go up!

Wish the weather would go out west where they really need it so bad

The land we took away is coming back to haunt us. We keep building and cutting down our trees and this water has no where to go. Give the animals back their land so they don't have to come into the cities to find food. Its sad these people are having to go through all this again. You think you would move if you live in a flood zone but sometimes that's not possible.

I wonder how many fools went from "2020 is over everything is ok" to "We're screwed."

I work for a water mitigation company. We had more calls this summer than in the winter when pipes freeze. And if you don't take care of it within 72 hours you have mold

I have friends and family in NE who had to leave their homes due to floods, for the first time in their lives. It's a new and perilous time.

Pave paradise pave up a parking lot and you get a swimming pool. Good planning. Build in floodplanes.

Hey why don’t we all laugh at Al Gore some more? I remember the disgusting jokes people made about him warming us about climate change. The mainstream media turned him into a punch line. Now that there is actual flooding in the Northeast we should collectively apologize to him.

FYI we are beyond the point of no return. Weather doesn’t turn on a dime.

At least Joe Manchin still has his coal company and fossil fuel stans.
