Its really good how you show cleaning after removing the blade and maintenance. I think a lot has been forgotten by folk over the last 80 years or so. We may very well be going into a time of rebuilding our country (Lord willing we have that opportunity) and will need people to show how to do things. I'm hoping a lot of young men watch your channel and learn now. Some of us lady folk enjoy learning too, but can't always physically do what you guys do.

LOL I say the same thing (to myself) when it's time to get out there and start the day "lets get something done!" I think the way you do projects is awesome. You take the time to keep things cleaned up and tiddy. Stack right away. Clean up scrap piles right away. Just keep the work site clean. You could stop at any moment and just walk away and it would almost look like you were never there. I am contemplating a saw mill myself. Most of the trees on my property are small diameter. I do have some big diameter trees that I can cut down but need to figure out how to get them back to the sawmill. I'm definitely going to implement how you have a home for everything. It just has to make you far more productive for sure. Easy to change the saw blades. A concern I had for sure. Thank you very much! 👊

I just received my new mill, Timbery m120 which is the same as LX-55, The first blade dulled out reasonably fast because I was cutting too fast, because I was not cleaning the wood prior to starting the cut, so I dulled the first blade rather quickly. I sharpened it on a bench grinder as I saw in a video and it does great again. I’m sure it’s not perfect but it does really good on the pine that I cut most of the time .. great video..

Love watching the production of wood for your projects! Nice job! We might be starting to setup our mill today so we can start milling before winter is over. Then we’ll move it to its permanent location. Fingers crossed 🤞

I need to get a new barrel when I go to town. I backed into mine with the tractor and it’s all rusted through. The salt life😂 I love that short bar. Is that 16”? It would be nice to have a water hose up by the mill so you can show off the pretty wood after it’s cut. Thanks for the good info.

New subber. Enjoyed your vid. My 55 is on the way. I plan on cutting about 800 bft per month and this mill will do the trick. I have owned an LT 15 but now that I'm older I believe the 55 is the way to go.

A word of caution I noticed you have some thing hanging at length from your jacket, zipper area, and that could get caught in the mechanics of any machines with belts or other moving parts that could pull you in and cause an injury, especially if you cannot reach an ignition switch to turn it off. My friend was a mechanic, and he got his ring caught in some moving part, and it tore three of his fingers off and could’ve been even worse if someone had not seen what happened and went to turn the engine off.. accidents do happen, and especially since you live alone, and don’t have medical attention close by it could be a life threat☮️

Ron, thanks for going into this issue of sawmill blades. I've wondered about the price of blades and sharpening. I've heard about needing to change blades after each large log and that blades are $25 each. It sounds like you are successful in getting much longer use out of each blade. My other issue of trying to buy a mill is the easy availability of logs. I'm surrounded by forest but most of my 10 acres are very steep mountainsides which would be very difficult to cut and move to a sawmill. Thanks for another Good video.

Did you purchase the optional blade guide arm I’m just finding out that is an option and I did not order it with mine. If you did was it worth $350?

Nice sawmill, if you don't keep the area clean while working you will regret it later.
