Through grants and fund raising Lewis managed to buy this 5 octave Bergerault marimba. This way he can practice at home. His school had no marimba or xylophone and he had to travel 30 miles to practice on one at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Percussionist here, wanted to add some context - It looks like he's using Stevens grip, a type of four mallet grip best for classical marimba pieces and bringing out finer details, and it takes a LOT of practice to be able to have that level of speed, sound quality, and individual control of each mallet.
