A tip to keep gingerbread houses together is melt some white sugar, then quickly dip an edge piece in that syrup and attach it to the next piece and so on. This way they can be edible.

Last Saturday, I took my grandsons to the library to make Christmas decorations for decorating our local libraries. They had such a good time decorating the gingerbread houses that we picked up houses for them to make and take home. You are right, it makes a huge mess! But it was worth it because they had such a good time. My youngest grandson ate part of the candy awning for his house before we could get it put on the house. lol

I did MOPS at a local church for several years when my kids were young. After that I joined a mom's group. I appreciated those groups so much and am still friends with some of the moms.

I literally laughed out loud when you showed your “Merry Christmas” sign that had run! I am sure you didn’t think it was funny when it happened, but you will later. Luke was adorable, eating his gingerbread cookies! I was trying to understand what he was saying, but could only get part of it. What a great idea to use the cookie sheets as a work surface for making the gingerbread houses! Can’t wait to see how all of them turned out. How blessed you are to have sooo many Bible studies to attend! That is surely a big part of how you are able to to remain so calm in the midst of everyday calamities. As a side note, I think you have a lot of lovely, elegant dresses, but I have to say that I think you look so good, so tailored, and so cozy in jeans and either a turtleneck or tailored shirt! Yeah, I know that you didn’t show the jeans in this video, but I remember all of the classic pieces that you bought last year and was actually disappointed when you said that you were going to wear dresses all winter. I love the dresses for Summer, but dress jeans, turtlenecks, plaid tailored shirts, and blazers or other jackets look so classic and so good on you! It is not my intention to be negative or offend you, but I just don’t think it looks as good to layer a round-neck pullover sweater on top of a dress and tights. That is just my two cents worth. You do you. But if people don’t ever say anything, you won’t know how others view it. If it were me, it might initially hurt my feelings some, but I would want to know. You always look lovely and I hope I haven’t upset you. I certainly would never, ever want to be perceived as being mean (although, I will possibly be chastised for saying anything). Anyway, you are my favorite YouTuber. Please know that I admire, respect, and care about you and your family. Blessings!❤

Hilary, your mom’s group sounds lovely! It actually made me cry because when my kids were little, I went to a church that provided something similar and loved it. Sadly, now we live elsewhere and do not have this available. Although I am at a different stage of my life (retirement), I long for a group for this type of connection. Would you consider helping us learn how to begin one? PS I love your videos and your sweet family.

Having all those freezer cookies is really paying off, a genius idea!! I bought a prebuilt Gingerbread house for my grandsons so all they have to do is decorate it, no broken pieces to hot glue. A little more expensive but it's huge so both the boys should enjoy decorating it. I also belong to a women's bible study group, but we are all retired so we meet at 2:30 in the afternoon that way no one has to drive at night. What a blessing! I've been enjoying Vlogmas so much. My mother always made a Williamsburg apple tree for Christmas. Had magnolia around the bottom and a pineapple at the top. Always looked forward to it...special memory.

Such cute ginger bread houses. ❤ I miss having a church family to go to. My city is very anti-God/Jesus. So, it’s been hard to live here from my home state. Having the church to be involved in, is vital to a person.

The gingerbread house with a bite out of it is the best!!! So cute. You have inspired me to paint my nails red for the month of December. I have been wearing sheer pink or white polish all summer and fall but your red nails look so cute and festive that I decided I needed red nails, too. 🙂
