Building An E36 Wagon In JAPAN Ends Up Being A DISASTER! But The Boys And I Are Problem Solvers!

We arrive in Japan and the guys at Side X did a great job prepping the car and getting the engine in and fabing up parts. Unfortunately they aren't BMW guys, so we spotted some issues that would have become weekend enders. We were prepared for A LOT of the issues we had, but a few things really put us back some time and stress.

Love that you built a BMW in Japan, that's exactly what I'd do too, not a big fan of JDM stuff. I would've had an M52 in there instead of the JZ, but I imagine those are trickier to find over there than in the US.

Oh and they definitely made other versions of the E36 in Japan, they're just not common. A buddy of mine owned a RHD 323i here that had been imported from Japan, it was kinda weird.

They asked for your ID because a few years back a guy used a gas can to set fire to the Kyoto Animation building killing a bunch of people. So yea that guy made it really troublesome for everyone to fill up gas cans and even cars being trucked to the track.

Soon as you said s15 radiator I was like win ha ha run sr 240 rads in all my e30s & e36 cars fits like a glove works easy with mounts and hoses and it’s cheap option
