But, if my understanding is correct you don't wear the crystal, you age it so it becames more stable. Also, the oscillators are cheap but they are supposed to be run 24/7 for weeks before they acheive their maximum stability.. please correct me if I am wrong

I wonder if they lock the internal OCXO to the incoming 10MHz signal and that is the reason that it is always on?
