the referee was special.. he understood very much that it was no longer a boxing game.. it was Ali's pride..

It wasn’t just that the referee didn’t stop the fight. It was the fact that Ali could have ended it at anytime during those last 5 or 6 rounds. But he chose to do just enough damage to force Terrell to keep coming out for each round for another beating. To say Ali was pissed is an understatement.
