Great to get the perspective of how the front end of these tractors react when steered. Must be a bit disconcerting for someone who has never driven one before, as they were so different to anything else on the market at the time. A very innovative machine in my opinion.
A travesty that Case chose to delete them from the range.

International 5488 with Front wheel assist was the last tractor to roll out of the Farmall Plant in Rock Island Illinois .

What a neat idea for a video, riding in the seat of an International 2+2, I always heard that the way they steered was really unique, now I understand.

nice tractor. what was the last tractor that IH produced, not case/ih but IH? i believe it was sometime around 1985 that international harvister agriculture division ceased to exist? they made some of the best tractors ever produced. so good in fact the vast majority of farm tractors here in north java are still IH tractors produced in the 1960's and 1970's. i see them all of the time. still earing their keep. me i fit right in with a 1948 cub

Mighty looking tractor. Could you make a video where you would explain how to change gears on this tractor, and how to operate torque amplifier.

The IH 720 is the best plow I have used, had a 6x18 that I pulled at close to 7mph .The plow seemed easier to pull, plus when you hit a large rock those springs had the plow back into ground so quickly you had the rock setting atop tilled soil.I don't  know if the field was plowed before hand with 720, but it appears he is using a field cultivator or disk in video.

Nice video and fantastic tractor!.
Thanks for posting it. that's from the days when International built a proper tractor, not like this CNH red or blue junk now. When ya shut the door it was a proper heavy steel sound, not the crash and rattle of broken glass guys get now with these modern fancy $1500 plus replacement cost doors, or all the cheap plastic trim falling off and breaking. I know a guy got a 5488 and it's 16.000 hrs and still got good for it's age cab interior.
