When the chain gets pulled there’s an impingement where the chain is supposed to slide into the slot/tube.
That part will be grinding heavily.

That's badass. Clever AF. And a good idea for a motor or something that spins in one direction then the other back and firth oscillating without wearing iut the motor by making it change direcrions ao much. The motor can just continuously spin in one direction and you still achieve the desired result.

This only works on a system with either no tension or net balanced tension on either side. Any unbalanced force and the chain will just keep going.

The reverse link is only connected on one side so the other side passed around the gear shaft
