Thank you, Crista! In 2024, my husband’s unknown half-sister’s daughter did an Ancestry DNA test and found her mother’s paternal family! My husband’s Dad was in Europe during WWII and fathered this daughter. Up until last year, no one knew anything, but the vague hints told to the mother of my husband’s half-sister (she is sadly dead, and so are the family that lived in the 1940’s generation). But, we remaining “young” ones have immediately welcomed her to the American side of her family, and will be physically meeting up with this niece and her nuclear family, this year! 🤩

For my husband's family reunion this summer I created a trivia game based on ancestors stories for the adults to learn about their ancestors. Everyone loved it! I also made a card deck with pictures and information about their ancestors for the grandkids to play a memory game at the reunion. I scanned and uploaded many pictures and documents for my husband's family and my own. Located the burial site of my husband's grandmother. She had no gravestone so the remaining relatives pitched in to buy one and it was placed on her grave a year ago.

Watching from my home in Etna, CA, located in the very far north of Californa, about 50 miles south of the Oregon Border. I have been doing Family research for many years. Before there was a public copy machine in town. Geaealogy has come a long ways since then. I embrace the computer, wi-fi and my cell phone. Love RootsTech from it's very beginning of time. One of my long time event of this year was through DNA located my Father's biological Mother. So with my Husband & childhood friend, took a week trip to meet my new found family. They welcomed me with open arms and share their lives and family history with me. A life time adventure! Which ment the world to me! There is always something new in Genealogy to learn.

I am the oldest of my siblings. I have six younger siblings. One of my brothers did the Ancestry DNA test before I did. I encouraged my son and daughter to do the Ancestry DNA test when I did. For my Birthday this year one of my sisters asked what I would like. And I used that as a reason to ask her if she would like to do the Ancestry DNA test so that I had another sibling to compare. My sister, my brother-in-law and two of my nephews recently completed the Ancestry DNA test this year. It has been interesting to see how it varies of how much DNA we all share.

This year Ancestry DNA found my biological father and a whole new family. My personal achievement is that I learned how to use different tools and methods, including AI to bring me close to identifying who my biological fathers father was. Very proud of my spreadsheets!

A town history published on Ancestry helped me with a brick wall, I then used Facebook and YDNA testing to prove the book story was true, and in 2024 traveled to Ireland to meet extended family.

I've finally gathered & color-enhanced (probably) all the digital photos to print for my "ancestor wall"... that is currently full of blank photo frames.

I can't wait to try out the photo identification feature in Ancestry!

Years ago, my wife & I got heavily involved in filling out our pedigrees but those ancestors didn't mean a lot to me until I began compiling the stories of many of them. That made them feel like family.
I also had a dream that told me Carol Porter is an ancestor on my maternal line and that she was born in 1823-24, but I haven't yet been able to connect her. If that connection is made, it will be a major step.

Viewing on catchup. This year I found my grandfather. And had an amazing catch up with family who we didn't know. It was a surreal experience.

The past year I have joined our local Genealogy Assn., broken down two brick walls through both DNA and doing genealogy, extended sideways several parts of my tree and written a story about my great grandfather and his life from Scotland to New Zealand and his life there and here. I have discovered AI to help write a draft.

This profile photo is of me Whare and my wife Rewa. We have a family and the bestest ever times is when we all laugh and are in the manner of happiness. Just like it says in the Book of Mormon.

I did the tree rating on the numerous trees I’ve been diligently working on. The majority of them are above 90. A couple are at 88. I’m glad to know that my hard working is producing good trees.
